FAQs

How much is the Initial Franchise Fee?

The Initial Franchise fee for a Single Territory Monster Tree Service® franchise opportunity is $39,500.

We offer significant discounts for multiple territories purchased at the same time, and Area Development opportunities to financially qualified prospects.

To learn more about the Monster Tree Service® investment options that are available to you including total investment and territory size, visit the Investment Options Page.

Do you have special programs for military veterans?

Yes. We offer a VetFran program to veterans of the United States Armed Forces and their spouses, and discount the Initial Franchise Fee by 15%.

Do you offer financing?

We don’t offer direct financing, but we are SBA approved for Fast Track loans to our franchisees, and work closely with SBA approved banks.

Will I pay a continuing royalty?

Yes. We phase in our already low royalty over the first three years.

In year 1 it starts at 5%, year 2 is 5.75%, and in year 3 through the end of your franchise agreement it is a maximum of 6.5%.

Once you reach $1,000,000 in gross sales in any calendar year, your royalty is reduced to 5%.

Do I need retail space or an office?

Not at all. Monster Tree Service® is a work from home franchise, with a yard or other storage area usually needed to store vehicles and equipment, and to meet and dispatch your work crews.

How much liquid capital do I need?

We require that you have a minimum of $50,000 in liquid capital available, and a net worth of $200,000.

Do I need experience in the tree service industry?

Absolutely not. Our franchisees come from all walks of life.

If you are a sincere individual with adequate references, a good business head, have the ability to work well with people and think you could manage your own business, we will teach you all you need to know to run a successful and rewarding Monster Tree Service®.

Do I need to buy my own equipment?

Vehicles and equipment are the things that make you money. You can choose to buy or lease, and the cost is included in our Initial Investment estimates.

Together, they are a tremendous business asset that holds value with a useful life of well over ten years. Monster Tree Service® wrapped and branded vehicles become rolling billboards, and further set you apart from the competition.

WIll I Need to Climb Trees?

Owning a Monster Tree Service® franchise isn’t about working on trees - you don’t need to be an arborist and won't be working as a crew member.

It is simply about managing a business and working well with people.

For a nice overview of the franchise opportunity we are offering, start with the Own Page.

Do you operate your own Monster Tree Service?

Yes.  To make sure we remain the leader in the Tree Care Industry, we operate our own successful, multi-million dollar Monster Tree Service® and continually test new products, equipment, and marketing techniques - so you don’t have to - and then apply what we learn and perfect for everyone’s benefit.

This is a huge advantage compared to "holding companies" that just sell franchises. At Monster Tree Service® we walk the walk, and talk the talk.

What type of training do you offer?

A Monster Tree Service® franchise includes two full weeks of initial training, with one week of classroom and hands-on training in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, followed by another full week of personal, onsite training at your location.

Training continues throughout your term with ongoing education programs and regular onsite support by Certified Arborists with decades of experience.

Do you offer continuing support?

Yes. The success of your business is our business, and nobody supports their franchisees better than we do.

In addition to the initial training class, we provide onsite assistance during your opening, online training sessions, arborist continuing education, an annual conference, onsite visits throughout the year and much more.

What about competition? I see a lot of tree service trucks on the road.

The reason you see a lot of tree service trucks on the road is that the work is there to support them all.

Small, single-truck operators still dominate the Tree Care Industry.  While there are some larger companies, owner/operators who both sell the job and perform the work are still doing most tree service.

Customers do business with these Mom & Pops because there is no alternative in an industry that needs and responds to our distinctive professionalism.

Once Monster Tree Service® starts operating in an area, our exceptional service, branded image, and aggressive, professionally designed Grand Opening and Monstrous Marketing Strategies quickly capture and build your market share.

Independents can’t compete.

How big is the tree service industry?

According to the Tree Trimming Services in the US Market Research Report by IBISWorld, an independent research firm, the Tree Care Industry produces over $17 billion in annual sales and is growing at a rate of about 5% each year.
